A cross-dresser was apprehended within a church in Adamawa

On May 18, the Adamawa State Police Command arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Umar, a resident of Abuja Road in Yola South Local Government Area, for loitering around the premises of the LCCN Church in Ngurore while dressed in clothing typically associated with the opposite sex (women).

The arrest came after a report was filed by Sunday Andrawus at the Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters, who had noticed the suspect’s movements within the church compound.

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police for Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for a thorough and discreet investigation.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety and order, urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the police.
