Tinubu 2027 Election Speculation

Wike dismisses the possibility of running against Tinubu in 2027.

Tinubu 2027 Election Speculation: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has ruled out any chance of running for the presidency against his superior, President Tinubu, in the 2027 general election.

In an interview with BBC Pidgin, the minister stated that no politician can successfully challenge Tinubu in the 2027 presidential race.

“I will not run again. I cannot compete against someone I am working with. Who else could win except him?” he questioned.

There have been talks within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) about zoning the presidential ticket to the South in 2027 to present a stronger opposition to Tinubu.

Still on Tinubu 2027 Election Speculation

Wike lost the 2022 PDP presidential primary to Atiku Abubakar, who went on to become the party’s candidate for the 2023 election. While discussing the ongoing crisis within the PDP, Wike expressed frustration with some party members and criticized the party’s policies.

“You are in the opposition; the opposition does not act with impunity. The opposition does not act arrogantly; it is the ruling party that shows impunity and arrogance because they hold power.

Who is in the PDP? Achike Udenwa, former governor of Imo, does not have a single assembly member or national assembly member. He didn’t even deliver 3% of the vote for his party, yet he is threatening.

Saba Egu, former governor of Ebonyi, also has no assembly or national assembly members. You did not produce a governor. What are you threatening about? You are empty. What are you threatening?” he said.
