Arsenal missed Ronaldo opportunity: British broadcaster Piers Morgan has reignited discussions around Arsenal’s past transfer choices, asserting that the club could have won three Premier League titles had they signed Cristiano Ronaldo after his departure from Manchester United.
Morgan expressed his view in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday night, shortly after Ronaldo delivered a stellar performance for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Still on Arsenal missed Ronaldo opportunity
Responding to the Portuguese forward’s stunning second goal in Al-Nassr’s 2-1 win over Al-Riyadh at Al-Awwal Park, Morgan wrote:
“I wish Arsenal had taken my advice to sign @Cristiano when he left United and was keen to come to us. We’d have probably won 3 League titles if he’d been leading our line, he’s still one of the best finishers in the world.”
Ronaldo netted twice in the match, once again showcasing his remarkable goal-scoring ability at the age of 40.
Al-Nassr’s next match is scheduled for next Friday against Al-Qadisiyah.
