Man Tied To Shooting: A tragic incident unfolded in Ohio, where a sheriff’s deput was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by Rodney Hinton Jr., who has been charged with aggravated murder. According to authorities, the deputy was directing traffic near the University of Cincinnati when Hinton Jr. allegedly “purposely” struck him with his car.
This incident comes just a day after Hinton Jr.’s 18-year-old son, Ryan Hinton, was fatally shot by a police officer. The Cincinnati police department revealed that Hinton Jr. met with them on Friday to view body camera footage of his son’s shooting death. After the meeting, Hinton Jr. left in his vehicle, and it was later reported that he was involved in the fatal incident with the sheriff’s deputy.
During a court appearance on Saturday, prosecuting attorney Ryan Nelson described Hinton Jr.’s actions as “calculated and premeditated.” He stated that Hinton Jr. deliberately accelerated his car and purposely caused the death of the on-duty deputy sheriff. The courtroom was packed with Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies in support of their fallen colleague.

Hinton Jr.’s attorney acknowledged the seriousness of the charge but noted that his client has no prior felonies. The attorney also expressed understanding for the emotional nature of the situation, given the recent death of Hinton Jr.’s son. The judge ordered Hinton Jr. to be held without bond until his next hearing on May 6.
The Hinton family has hired attorneys to investigate the death of Ryan Hinton. In a statement, they expressed their devastation over the tragic turn of events, extending their condolences to the family of the officer who was killed. The statement highlighted the unimaginable tragedy that the community is facing, with two families affected by loss.
The deputy who was killed has not been publicly identified due to an Ohio law protecting the privacy of victims and their families. However, it was mentioned that the deputy had recently retired and was serving in a special capacity with the department. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
