Madrid Coach Exit Deal: Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement regarding the terms of his departure from the club.
The Italian manager’s tenure at the Santiago Bernabéu appears to be nearing its end, with Xabi Alonso long considered the leading candidate to take over. Ancelotti had previously been linked with the Brazil national team job, but reports suggest he has declined the opportunity to lead them into the 2026 World Cup.
According to The Athletic, a deal has now been finalized that will see the 65-year-old step down at the end of the season—possibly even following Sunday’s El Clásico against Barcelona.
Still on Madrid Coach Exit Deal
Discussions between Ancelotti and Real Madrid have reportedly centered around settling the remainder of his contract, which runs until 2026. The delay in finalizing his exit was largely due to negotiations over the salary owed for the remaining year.
With his exit imminent, Real Madrid are now assessing potential replacements. Candidates reportedly include Xabi Alonso, club legend Raul Gonzalez, and Alvaro Arbeloa.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti is said to be weighing a lucrative offer to manage in Saudi Arabia, which could see him earn €50 million net (£42 million)—a deal that may prove hard to resist.
Despite facing pressure this season, Ancelotti remains one of the most decorated managers in football history. Across two spells at Real Madrid, he has secured 15 trophies, including three UEFA Champions League titles and two La Liga championships.
