Luis Figo marital separation: Football legend Luis Figo has reportedly moved out of his family home and into a rental property, leading a “separate life” from his wife, Helene Svedin.
This comes after Figo attended the Laureus Awards in Spain earlier this week, where he mentioned his daughters—Daniela, Martina, and Stella—as the “best” things in his life, but did not include his wife. Over the years, he has attended the awards alongside Svedin, but this year he was seen leaving his new residence alone in Madrid.
According to El Confidencial, Figo is believed to have been living in the new place for about a month. Spanish outlet Vanitatis reports that both Figo and Svedin are now living separately, though there has been no official confirmation of a separation.
Spanish publication Marca adds that Figo had briefly left the family home on a short-term basis for two weeks three years ago, staying at the Wellington Hotel, owned by a friend, before returning to the family home in Salamanca, Madrid.

Marca also mentions Figo’s rumored link to model Claudia Bavel, who had previously claimed to have had a relationship with his former teammate Iker Casillas. The four were seen together at a winery, but Figo has strongly denied any romantic involvement, calling such reports “garbage” and threatening legal action for defamation.
Meanwhile, Svedin has been in Mallorca, according to her Instagram, instead of attending the Laureus awards with her husband. Figo and Svedin have been together since 1996, after meeting at a dinner party during his first year at Barcelona. They dated for five years before marrying, two years after the birth of their eldest daughter, Daniela.
Svedin has been actively involved in dressage, training rigorously with her horse, Raio.
Figo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of his generation, played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan, and won the Ballon d’Or in 2000.
