According to a statement issued on Sunday, May 25, 2025, by Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, Director of Public Affairs, the operation was conducted by the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit to enhance public safety and curb criminal activities.

Led by the Agency’s Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, the operation began in the early hours of each day, around 1:30 a.m., and covered several identified hotspots based on intelligence and residents’ reports.

Areas targeted included Victoria Island, Osborne Road, Coastal Road, Chevron, First and Second Roundabout, Obalende, Ikota, Lekki Phase 1 and 2, Ikoyi, Falomo Bridge, Law School, Eko Hotel axis, Oniru Beach, as well as Ketu, Isale Oja, AP Roundabout, and railway corridors in Agege.
