IGP Visits Plateau, Offers Sympathy to Governor and Indigenes

IGP visits Plateau State: In the wake of recent tragic attacks in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, which claimed the lives of numerous residents, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, paid a condolence visit to the state.

 

Accompanied by top-ranking officers — including the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force, AIG Funsho Adegboye, mni; AIG Zone 4, AIG Zachariah Fera; and the Commandant of the Police Staff College, Jos, AIG Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka — the IGP visited the Plateau State Government House, where he met with Governor Caleb Mutfwang to express his sympathies to the government and people of the state.

During their meeting, the IGP strongly condemned the attacks and assured the Governor of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace. He pledged that all necessary efforts would be made to bring the perpetrators to justice and to calm the growing unrest in the region.

 

The IGP also convened a strategy session with tactical commanders to assess and enhance the deployment of police personnel and operational assets in the state. As part of further action, he directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Kwazhi Dali Yakubu, mni, to take full command of ongoing operations aimed at restoring peace across Plateau State.

 

The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its dedication to the people of Plateau and the nation at large, assuring that it will continue to pursue justice and work toward lasting peace in the affected communities.
