FCTA Seals PDP Secretariat: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the Federal Government’s decision to seal its national headquarters, Wadata Plaza, describing it as a “brazen abuse of power” and “the height of irresponsibility.”
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) sealed the building on Monday, May 26, citing 28 years of unpaid ground rent. In response, the PDP convened an emergency caucus meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
Speaking after the meeting, Acting National Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum strongly criticized the move, calling it a calculated attempt to suppress democracy and intimidate the opposition.

“We will not take this lightly. They can come and arrest all of us — we are prepared,” Damagum stated. “This is a clear attempt to undermine democracy, and we will hold them accountable.”
He described the sealing of the party office as a “reckless display of irresponsibility” by the current administration and vowed that the PDP would not remain silent.
“The public needs to understand the implications of this act. We are not afraid, and we will respond accordingly after our internal deliberations are concluded,” he said.
Damagum also disclosed that the meeting had been adjourned to continue the next day at 10 a.m., with a small committee tasked with submitting a report to guide further action.
