Abducted During Enugu Rituals: Suspected herdsmen have abducted a priestess (Ezenwanyi) and three worshippers while they were performing rituals at a river in Obehe Orba, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The incident, which occurred on the night of Wednesday, April 16, 2025, was confirmed by Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, a media personality based in Enugu. He also reported that four local farmers were kidnapped the same day in the community.

“The first four were kidnapped at Ohebe River along with the Ezenwanyi, who took them there for their usual water and #Fanta ritual. Fulani herdsmen abducted all of them in the presence of the water goddess. The other four victims were taken from their cashew farms,” Ugwuanyi wrote.
The kidnappers reportedly contacted the victims’ families, initially demanding a ransom of N50 million, later reducing it to N15 million.
Reacting to the incident, Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North Senatorial District, said, “Kidnappers and Fulani herdsmen have taken over Enugu North Senatorial Zone, including Nsukka.”
