Manchester United sign Cunha: anchester United have officially completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The Brazilian forward has finalized his £62.5 million move from Wolves, pending visa and registration, with a statement released on Sunday afternoon.
Cunha, 28, passed his medical last week and marks United’s first major signing this summer as they aim to rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
He will be Amorim’s first signing of the summer as the club looks to strengthen a squad that finished 15th in the Premier League.
Cunha scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for Wolves after initially joining on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023.

He signed permanently at the end of that season for up to 40 million euros (£35 million).
Manchester United’s brief statement read: “Manchester United has reached agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha.
“The Brazilian forward’s signing is subject to visa and registration. The 26-year-old has 13 senior caps for Brazil and has made 270 appearances, scoring 72 goals across the top leagues in England, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland.
“During two-and-a-half seasons at Wolves, Cunha scored 33 goals in 92 appearances.
“Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.”
It is understood United will pay Wolves in three installments of £20.85 million over two years after Wolves rejected an offer to spread the payment over five years.
The Red Devils had already agreed personal terms with Cunha, who could now take Marcus Rashford’s No. 10 shirt.
