Elon Musk Bids Farewell

Elon Musk Bids Farewell to Trump with a Black Eye.

Elon Musk Bids Farewell: Elon Musk’s Oval Office sendoff with Donald Trump was a notable event, marked by Musk’s visible black eye, which sparked widespread speculation about its origin. Musk attributed the injury to roughhousing with his son, stating the child punched him in the face.

Musk’s departure from his role as Trump’s cost-cutter-in-chief was a significant aspect of the meeting. Despite Trump’s claims that Musk is “really not leaving” and will be “back and forth,” Musk is leaving his position spearheading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to focus on his businesses, including Tesla, SpaceX, and X. Trump, however, suggested that Musk’s involvement with the administration wouldn’t entirely cease, stating Musk would “always be with us, helping all the way.”

During the Oval Office sendoff, Trump praised Musk’s efforts in leading the DOGE, crediting him with “a colossal change in the old ways of doing business in Washington.” Musk’s tenure was marked by significant cuts, including tens of thousands of jobs and slashed foreign aid, with some government functions being greatly reduced, such as the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Trump described Musk’s work as “the most sweeping and consequential government reform effort in generations.”

The meeting also touched on allegations of Musk’s regular ketamine use, reported by the New York Times. Musk dodged these questions, instead attacking the publication’s credibility. Trump, when questioned about Musk’s alleged drug use, denied knowledge of it and described Musk as a “fantastic guy.”

Despite his departure, Musk expressed his intention to stay a “friend and advisor” to Trump, looking forward to continuing their relationship. Trump’s farewell gesture included presenting Musk with a ceremonial key to the White House, symbolizing the end of Musk’s tenure as the head of DOGE.
