Nigerian Army troops raid camp of bandit leader in Katsina, rescue abducted woman.

Nigerian Army Troops Raid:  Troops of the Nigerian Army have intensified offensive operations in Katsina State, raiding terrorist hideouts and rescuing a woman who had been held captive for over two months.

The coordinated operation took place on Saturday morning in Machika and Dankolo villages in the Sabuwa Local Government Area, targeting camps operated by a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Muritala.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, intelligence sources reported that the troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to flee into nearby mountainous terrain.

The military recorded no casualties, while three terrorists were reportedly neutralised during the assault.

After the retreat, troops destroyed the bandits’ camps, motorcycles, livestock, and other support systems to prevent them from regrouping.

During a follow-up operation in the Maigora axis, troops recovered three motorcycles and secured additional territory.

Mrs. Suliat Adam, a 40-year-old native of Dankolo village who had been kidnapped along the Funtua–Zaria Road roughly 70 days earlier, managed to escape from captivity during an earlier military raid on May 20 in Maigora. She has since been reunited with her family.
