Arsenal Transfer Deal Confirmed: Arsenal have finally struck a deal to secure long-term target Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The defensive midfielder has been on Arsenal’s radar for over a year, with the agreement essentially finalized during the winter transfer window.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Zubimendi has given a verbal agreement to sign a long-term contract in north London, with Arsenal prepared to activate the Spaniard’s £51 million release clause.
Zubimendi will be the first signing under new sporting director Andrea Berta, who joined from Atletico Madrid in March after the departures of Edu and Jason Ayto’s brief interim period.

At 26, Zubimendi is regarded as one of the top midfield prospects in European football and is an important figure for Spain, having been part of their victorious Euro 2024 campaign.
