JAMB 2025 UTME Score: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released a comprehensive statistical breakdown of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), offering insights into the overall performance of candidates across the country.
According to the report, a total of 1,955,069 candidates participated in the 2025 UTME. Of this figure, more than 1.5 million candidates scored below 200, underscoring concerns about academic preparedness and performance.
The breakdown further revealed that only 4,756 candidates scored above 320, while 7,658 candidates fell within the 300–319 range.

JAMB also disclosed that 40,247 underage candidates were granted special permission to sit for the exam based on their demonstrated academic potential. However, just 467 of these underage candidates—equating to 1.16%—met the board’s criteria for exceptional performance. The board stated that these candidates will still be required to pass three additional stages of assessment before final decisions are made.
The results have reignited discussions about the quality of education and the need for systemic reforms to better prepare students for tertiary education in Nigeria.
