Losing Premier League Title: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that Liverpool winning the Premier League title hurt him “big time,” revealing that he only watched a “small part” of their celebrations.
Liverpool secured the title last weekend with four games to spare after a 5-1 victory over Tottenham.
When asked if missing out on the title was painful, Arteta responded: “Yeah, big time. It was in my tummy, yeah. I understand that it’s a team that has been more consistent and has all the necessary qualities to win, but it’s very painful.”

He also took the opportunity to congratulate Liverpool for their achievement, acknowledging their management and consistency: “They fully deserve to win. They were the better team, they had so many attributes, and they had a consistent squad available. We’re going to try again. But before next season, we must finish this one very strong.”
Arteta further discussed the emotional challenge of seeing Liverpool celebrate their triumph: “I watched a small part of it (Liverpool’s celebrations). It can be part of your motivation, but it’s not the biggest part. My motivations are focused on other things, but it definitely hurts to watch.”
