Diddy declines plea agreement in s£x trafficking case

Diddy rejects plea deal: Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has turned down a plea deal in his ongoing federal s£x trafficking and racketeering case, a federal prosecutor announced during a hearing in New York on Friday.

Prosecutor Madison Smyser revealed the existence of the plea offer during the pre-trial hearing but did not provide details about its terms. Combs, who faces five federal charges, has pleaded not guilty to all accusations.

The charges arise from claims that the rapper and producer used violence, threats, and coercion to compel women into participating in so-called “Freak Offs”—s£x parties involving non-consensual acts.

In a major setback for Combs’ defense, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled against excluding surveillance footage from a 2016 hotel incident, which shows Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura.

Commenting on the ruling, Mundaca stated, “It’s a huge win for the prosecution and a significant loss for the defense. I don’t see how any jury member could watch that footage and view Sean Combs in a positive light. It’s going to be difficult to watch. Visual evidence is incredibly powerful at trial and almost irreplaceable.”

Combs’ attorneys had previously claimed the footage was tampered with and should not be allowed in court. Nevertheless, the judge determined that it would be presented to the jury during the trial.

The disgraced rapper has publicly apologized for the violent incident shown in the video. “My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions,” he stated, adding that he pursued therapy and rehabilitation after the event. “I’m not asking for forgiveness. I am truly sorry.”

Cassie Ventura, who recently resolved a separate civil lawsuit against Combs, is expected to testify in person. Jury selection is scheduled for May 5, with opening statements set to begin on May 12. The trial is anticipated to last up to 10 weeks.

Combs’ trial is slated to commence on May 5. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges of s£x trafficking and racketeering and has denied all other misconduct allegations brought against him.
